Bill Baughman, Principal Bill’s distinguished professional career covers a broad range of financial services industry experience, including personal investment in, or oversight of, hundreds of millions of dollars in California real estate transactions. Partnering together with Linda, his wife, Bill brings the value of this vast expertise along with his strong organizational and marketing skills to their clients. Business Experience · Sales – negotiated tens of millions of dollars in residential and commercial property investments; · Finance – oversight of hundreds of millions of dollars in loans and underwriting; · Appraisal – of real estate totalling hundreds of millions of dollars; · Real Estate Development – research for development of properties totalling more than $100M; and · Risk Analysis – asset review and regulatory compliance oversight of a $500M bank lending portfolio. Bill developed an asset quality review program for a billion-dollar US Bank affiliate to ensure the bank’s investment in hundreds of millions of dollars in real property loans. In his typical hard-working manner, Bill also served concurrently as chief appraiser while maintaining individual real estate loan production responsibilities. As a fledgling real estate agent in 1978, and in testament to his doing-what-it-takes style, Bill‘s first transaction successfully brought together both a first-time buyer and an owner of a home that wasn’t even listed for sale. How’s that for going the extra mile for your clients? Community Involvement Bill has been an active contributor to service organizations like Rotary, various Chambers of Commerce, and the American Red Cross, where he earned the title of “Most Valuable Trustee” for organizing its local CPR training and fund-raising activities. He partnered with a San Diego political consultant to design an innovative community participation plan for employees of a global financial management consulting firm. And, he successfully managed a foreign government’s area seminar on Pan-Asian business opportunities. He’s most recently served as head of his community’s HOA Rules & Security Committee and is a volunteer on their Disaster Preparedness team. Today, Bill assists Linda with their real estate business, which runs the gamut from the usual listings and sales production, to a short-sale & bank-owned transaction consultation and facilitation practice, and an interior redesign and home staging venture. They both love entertaining their friends and clients as Bill, an avid chef, is well-known for bringing a new level of sophistication to desert home cooking. Education A Chicago native, Bill recently obtained his e-Pro certification in advanced real estate technology. Prior to that, he was certified as a California paralegal by UC-San Diego, graduating with honors. Bill pursued his advanced studies in economics at UC-Davis in northern California. He originally attended New Trier High School in Illinois and The Hotchkiss School in Connecticut. |
Linda Baughman, Principal Linda brings more than 30 years of top-level leadership in the real estate and financial services industries. Linda created PHS Services LLC after a long run as President and CEO of a San Diego financial institution. A career banker, she’s been involved in marketing, real estate sales and development, and stock brokerage services. Her life-long commitment to the housing sector made the transition to real estate a natural and logical choice. Business Experience · Directed billions of dollars worth of property acquisitions, development and sales; · Negotiated contracts achieving high levels of premier market exposure and value; · Guided the bank’s assets from less than $200 million to almost $800 million in just over a decade; · Hosted a weekly Internet radio program for Entrepreneur magazine as well as a local radio program on real estate and consumer finance topics; · Selected as “Consumer Financial Expert” for local Fox-TV and ABC-TV affiliates; · Developed new client-focused branch designs now being copied across the country; · Pioneered innovative Internet marketing ideas; and · Authored hundreds of articles on financial topics. Community Involvement Linda served as board member for San Diego State University’s Community Economic Development program, the local Community Economic Development Council, and as chairperson of The Foundation for Women, offering micro-credit programs to the indigenous people of India and Africa, and refugees from war-torn areas abroad living in San Diego. She also served on the San Diego Opera’s Corporate Council, the Board of Trustees for United States International University, the foundation for Palomar College, and two terms as the President of the Southwestern College Foundation. She’s most recently served as Treasurer on her community’s HOA board and is a volunteer on their Disaster Preparedness team. Today, Linda and Bill are already firmly established in the Desert area and participate in many local charitable events. Linda is on the Board of the HOA where she lives, and in her spare time devotes her energies to their short-sale & bank-owned transaction consultation and facilitation practice, their interior redesigning & home staging business, and her husband’s chef efforts by creating fantastic entertainment décor for social gatherings and group events. Education A native Californian, Linda has been a keynote speaker, panelist and guest lecturer at colleges, universities, and Fortune 1000 companies. She’s a graduate of the Leadership Program at Harvard University‘s Graduate School of Business as well as Stanford University’s Executive Development Program. Linda pursued her advanced educational studies at UC-Berkeley. |
